Matthew Mowbrey is a born and raised Albertan. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce Degree in International Business at Grant MacEwan University. Increasingly interested in Alberta’s business challenges, he soon followed it with both a Law Degree and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta. Matthew completed his articles with Gerig Hamilton Neeland in 2015.

Although Matthew has been practicing law in Red Deer for several years, his true passion lies in helping individuals and small businesses reach their full potential. As an active community advocate and entrepreneur, Matthew founded Woodbine Legal Services in 2022 to sharing his years of business and legal experience.

Matthew has successfully represented clients at both the Provincial Court and Court of Queen’s Bench, on matters involving debt collection, builder’s liens, commercial lease disputes, shareholder disputes, and family law.Matthew has been on the executive team of several enterprises including those involved with agricultural custom manufacturing, hospitality, strategic consulting, immigration consulting, financial services, and health supplement companies. Matthew’s background in business development assists in providing both practical and legal strategic planning for his commercial clients. Matthew has advised clients on franchise agreements and disclosure, commercial leases, share and asset purchase agreements, unanimous shareholders agreements, and other corporate documents.

Matthew Mowbrey actively volunteers with the Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic, Downtown Business Association, Junior Achievement, and Piper Creek Optimist Club.
